Blue HourPosted by Marian (Bangor, United Kingdom) on 7 October 2009 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio. I always, well almost always, carry a camera with me. Sods law that at the time when I could really use it, I have left it at home. I was in a rush and left the SLR at home, and the tripod too. I only had the Canon G9 with me, and that was low on battery. I knew as soon as I was on the mainland that the moon over Ogwen would look good, and for this image I had to just balance the camera on the wall beside the lake, which left me with a reasonable amount of straightening to do. The light was beautiful, the afterglow of the set sun hung around the horizon for ages, the water was beautifully still and the mood very serene. One of the bluest blue hours that I have seen. Today was so different. Not only because of work, but also because it has just been grey and heavy rain all day. Yesterday seems such a long time ago. Other stuff going on was a lot less serene than the image. I have decided to act on some of it, hopefully in a positive rather than in a negative way.
